Summary

 

The current contract for banking services was due to end in January 2021 and a full procurement had been carried out to seek a provider of general banking services for the next five years. The five year contract would enable South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) to operate on a day to day basis and would include the provision of procurement cards. A comprehensive procurement pack, which included a full Statement of Requirements, was advertised openly on the Chest. The specification set out SLDC’s detailed requirements.

 

Note – The tender was detailed in Appendix 1 in Part ll of the Agenda which was excluded from inspection by members of the public in accordance with Section 100B(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, copies of the appendix to this report are excluded from inspection by members of the public as they contain information as described in Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006, as follows:-

 

- Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular

person (including the authority holding that information). (Paragraph 3)

 

Decision

 

(1)        the tender for Banking Services is awarded to the supplier identified in

the Part II Appendix 1 report; and

 

(2)        the Director of Strategy, Innovation and Resources, in conjunction with

Lead Specialist Legal Governance and Democracy, enter into a contract on

behalf of the Council with the successful bidder.

 

Reasons for Decision

 

To continue to deliver excellent value for money services.

 

Alternative Options Considered and Rejected

 

There was no alternative option. The council requires banking services and the current contract ends in January 2021 and there was no option for a further extension.
